If you want wired, in-ear listening with a sound-focused design for fishing, choose CCA Phoenix in-Ear Monitor; if you need open-ear wireless playback and onboard music storage, choose Rhyfell Bone Conduction Swimming. For fishing, the deciding question is whether you want an ear-sealing style of listening or a wraparound design that leaves your ears open.
CCA Phoenix in-Ear Monitor vs Rhyfell Bone Conduction Swimming at a Glance
• CCA Phoenix in-Ear Monitor: A wired IEM with a 10mm dual-magnet dynamic driver, metal housing, and detachable cable; its trade-off is that it requires a wired connection and sits in the ear canal.
• Rhyfell Bone Conduction Swimming: An open-ear wireless headset with Bluetooth and 32GB of MP3 storage; its trade-off is that its battery life is up to eight hours and Bluetooth range is 10 meters.
• For sound-focused wired listening: CCA Phoenix is aimed at people who want in-ear audio and a V-shaped tuning.
• For open-ear movement and offline playback: Rhyfell suits people who want to leave their ear canals unblocked and carry music on the headset.
The CCA Phoenix is a wired in-ear monitor built around a 10mm dual-magnet dynamic driver with an LCP diaphragm. Its stated frequency range is 20–40,000 Hz, and its 33-ohm impedance is another part of its audio specification. The driver design and V-shaped tuning point toward a listening experience that emphasizes deep bass and crisp treble, with mids described as slightly understated. In practical terms, that profile may appeal to someone who likes a lively presentation rather than a deliberately even emphasis across the sound.
The metal cavity, ergonomic in-ear shape, and noise-isolating fit make the Phoenix a more enclosed listening option than the Rhyfell. That can suit a listener who wants to focus on music or use the earbuds for monitoring, gaming, or everyday listening. It comes with a silver-plated braided cable, and the cable uses a detachable 0.78mm connection. The listed configuration is wired with a USB-C plug and a microphone; the product information also lists a 2.5mm TRS jack. A wired connection avoids needing to manage a headset battery, but it ties listening to a compatible source and a physical cable.

For fishing, I’d consider the Phoenix when your priority is in-ear sound and you’ll have a compatible wired device close at hand. Its metal construction and audio-oriented design are relevant strengths, but it isn’t an open-ear option, and the product information lists no noise-control feature. Skip the Phoenix if you want wireless movement, onboard music storage, or an open fit that leaves your ears unblocked.
Its other major distinction is built-in 32GB MP3 storage. The product description says that the storage holds over 8,000 songs and is meant for offline playback, including underwater use when Bluetooth signals aren’t available. The instructions say to download music and switch to MP3 mode before swimming. That matters beyond swimming: for fishing in a location where you don’t want to depend on a nearby phone connection, the stored-music mode offers an alternative to Bluetooth streaming. Rhyfell also specifies up to eight hours of battery life, with actual consumption varying by volume and playback mode.
For a buyer weighing the best open ear earbuds for fishing, Rhyfell is the more relevant design of these two because it leaves the ears open. That doesn’t make it a fishing-specific headset, and it still has a battery to charge: the listed charge time is two hours. Its waterproof rating is IP68, and its stated uses include swimming and other outdoor activities. Skip Rhyfell if you want a wired IEM, a conventional in-ear fit, or a setup that does not require charging.
• Best for a wired in-ear fit → CCA Phoenix in-Ear Monitor. It connects by wire and is designed to sit in the ear, rather than wrap around the head with open ears.
• Best for open-ear awareness → Rhyfell Bone Conduction Swimming. Its open-ear design is intended to leave the ear canal unblocked while listening.
• Best for onboard music without a Bluetooth connection → Rhyfell Bone Conduction Swimming. It has 32GB of MP3 storage, and the product directions specify using MP3 mode when Bluetooth signals are unavailable.
• Best for a detachable audio cable → CCA Phoenix in-Ear Monitor. Its cable has a 0.78mm detachable connection, which gives the owner a way to replace or customize the cable.
• Best for a wireless workout-style fit → Rhyfell Bone Conduction Swimming. Its flexible wraparound design and hook-shaped earpiece are intended to remain secure during movement.
• Best for an audio profile described as V-shaped → CCA Phoenix in-Ear Monitor. Its stated tuning emphasizes bass and treble while keeping the mids somewhat understated.
• Best for water-focused use → Rhyfell Bone Conduction Swimming. Its IP68 waterproof rating and MP3 mode are features specifically relevant to swimming and offline listening.
• Best on-ear-style option for fishing → Rhyfell Bone Conduction Swimming. It is not a conventional over-ear headphone, but its wraparound, open-ear form is closer to an around-the-head design than the CCA’s in-ear shells.
• Best bluetooth headset for fishing → Rhyfell Bone Conduction Swimming. It provides Bluetooth 6 connectivity, while the CCA is wired.
Buying Considerations
Next, consider whether you prefer an open or enclosed fit. CCA’s in-ear design is paired with a noise-isolating fit, which can help separate the listening experience from surrounding sound. Rhyfell leaves the ear canal open, a design intended to help the wearer stay aware of traffic, conversations, and other surroundings. That open fit may be useful outdoors, but it does not mean the headset cancels noise; its listed noise control is none.
Fishing also makes the playback method worth considering. If you expect to listen through a nearby wired device and want in-ear sound, the CCA has the more straightforward setup. If you want to keep music on the headset or avoid relying on Bluetooth in a place where a connection is unavailable, Rhyfell’s MP3 mode is the more practical feature. The product directions specifically say to switch to MP3 mode before swimming; for other outings, the key distinction remains stored playback versus a wired source or Bluetooth streaming.
Finally, consider charging and fit before choosing. Rhyfell lists up to eight hours of battery life and a two-hour charge time, so it requires some power planning. CCA’s wired design has no battery-life figure listed because its connection is wired, but that also means carrying and managing a cable. Neither product is automatically right for every angler: the more useful choice depends on whether open-ear awareness or an in-ear, sound-focused fit matters more to you.
I’d choose the Rhyfell Bone Conduction Swimming for fishing because its open-ear fit, Bluetooth connection, and built-in MP3 storage align better with moving around outdoors and listening without depending on a nearby Bluetooth signal. Its eight-hour battery limit still needs planning, and it is not a substitute for a wired IEM.
If my priority were in-ear listening with a detachable cable and the CCA’s bass-and-treble-focused tuning, I’d choose the Phoenix instead. For my fishing use case, though, Rhyfell’s listening options and open design make more sense.
FAQ
I’d pick Rhyfell for fishing if an open-ear design and wireless playback matter most. Choose CCA instead if you prefer wired in-ear listening and have a compatible audio source nearby.
The product information lists no noise-control feature. Its in-ear fit is described as noise-isolating, but that is not the same as a listed electronic noise-cancellation function.
Rhyfell lists up to eight hours of battery life and a two-hour charge time, so it needs charging. CCA is wired, and its product information does not list battery operation.
