Centre County 4-H Robotics is excited to enter the 2026-27 season in all 3 of our programs for students in 4th-12th grade. Parents and students are encouraged to read through this document in detail then sign up using the appropriate form for the program you want to join. We ask that all students participating in a CC4H Robotics program this year fill out the sign up form, both those new to the club and those returning.
Signing up does not firmly commit you to joining the club. Each program will have a time period for students and parents to evaluate whether it is a good fit for them then decide if they want to stay or not. Program dues will be collected at the end of this period.
CC4H Robotics offers three different programs for kids of different ages and experience levels. See a summary before then follow the links to each team's specific page for more details. All of our programs are open to any students from the region, regardless of school district and with or without any past experience in robotics or STEM. Anyone who is curious and willing to work hard learning and applying new skills is welcome to join!
Note that there is some overlap in the grades of our programs (6th graders can join FLL or FTC and 9th-12th graders can join FTC or FRC). Read through each of the sections below to learn more about each program then contact the appropriate mentor if you need help deciding.
4th-6th grade students
Students build and program LEGO robots to complete autonomous tasks.
Students perform research for an "Innovation Project" and present it to judges.
6th-12th grade students
Students build and program robots using kits and custom components.
Students present an Engineering Portfolio to judges at competitions.
Students grow in knowledge of real STEM skills including programming and manufacturing.
9th-12th grade students
Students build and program robots using complex, custom fabricated parts.
Students learn advanced STEM skills including CAD, mechanical engineering, and programming.
Students can also focus partially or fully on providing business support to the club through fundraising, marketing, communications, and more.
CC4H Robotics wouldn't be possible without our passionate volunteer mentors. Mentors work with all 3 of the programs to share technical, professional, and personal knowledge and help the kids succeed. Across our programs we emphasize that the students should lead the work, but mentors are there to keep kids safe, keep them on track, and teach them the advanced skills they need to learn to succeed. For more information about volunteering, visit cc4hrobotics.org/volunteer or apply to volunteer below!
CC4H Robotics is fueled by sponsorships and personal donations. We are 100% volunteer run and funded fully by our sponsors, with no direct financial support from Penn State or Centre County 4-H.Â
Sponsors: Businesses or other organizations that want to support the club can join our sponsorship team and be recognized as part of our team through logos on T-shirts, posters, and even our robots. Visit cc4hrobotics.org/sponsor for more information (note: our sponsorship levels are being updated for the 2026-27 season)
Donors: Individual donors, both those with kids in the program and anyone else with a passion for STEM education, can always make a tax-deductible donation through CentreSTEM, the 501(c)3 nonprofit supporting CC4H Robotics. Visit centrestem.org/donate for more information about how you can donate to the club.
