INTRODUCTION

This Privacy Policy describes how the GST CBT App ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application. The GST CBT App is a practice application designed for Nigerian university students preparing for GST (General Studies) courses. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

1. Usage Data

The App collects anonymized usage data automatically, including: App session duration and frequency, features used within the App, question sets accessed and performance statistics, device type, operating system version, and app version.

2. Advertising Data

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect: Device identifiers (Advertising ID), approximate location (country/region level), and ad interaction data (impressions, clicks).

3. Analytics Data

The App uses Firebase Analytics to understand usage patterns. Firebase Analytics may collect: app events (screens viewed, actions taken), device information (model, OS, app version), and approximate location data.

4. Local Data Storage

The App stores quiz results, performance history, downloaded question sets, and app preferences locally on your device using Hive (local database). This data is stored entirely on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the collected information to: provide and maintain the App's core functionality; display relevant advertisements through Google AdMob; analyze app usage and improve user experience through Firebase Analytics; and deliver offline access to question sets and study materials.

DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties, except: Google AdMob for serving advertisements (refer to Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy), Firebase Analytics for usage analytics (refer to Google's Privacy Policy), and legal requirements if required by law or in response to valid legal processes.

DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

All quiz data and user progress are stored locally on your device. We do not operate backend servers that store your personal data. Question content is sourced from GitHub repositories and is publicly available. We implement reasonable security measures to protect the data within the App.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The App is intended for use by university students and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to: access the data stored locally on your device by the App; clear your local data by uninstalling the App or clearing the App's data through your device settings; opt out of personalized advertising through your device's advertising settings; and opt out of analytics collection by disabling analytics in the App settings (if available).

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The App integrates with: Google AdMob (Advertising) at https://policies.google.com/privacy, Firebase Analytics (Analytics) at https://policies.google.com/privacy, and Google Play Services at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or through the Google Play Store. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
