Suzan Lori-Parks
The first African-American woman to win the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for Drama (Topdog/Underdog) Parks is an American writer with an extensive list of accolades and accomplishments. Born and raised in Fort Knox, Kentucky, Parks has written both screenplays and stage plays that examine the experience of black people and impoverished individuals. Her work is poignant, nuanced, and complex. Topdog/Underdog is no exception.
