Dr Massimilliano Ruocco

Research Scientist, Telenor. Adjunct Associate Professor, NTNU

Talk Abstract

In recent years, different Deep Learning techniques have been successfully employed within the area of recommender systems, for different tasks, i.e. content feature extraction, session-based recommendation. In particular the use of Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) has been shown to be on of the most promising one. In this talk it will be presented the most recent advancement in these areas, by focusing in particular on the use of Recurrent Neural Network for modelling and predicting the user behaviour in Recsys engines.

Speaker Bio

Massimiliano Ruocco is currently Research Scientist in Telenor Research in the Analytics and AI group. He is also Adjunct Associate Professor at NTNU in the Data and Artificial Intelligence group. He received an MSc in Computer Science from University of Verona and a PhD from NTNU working on Machine Learning for Information Retrieval. He have been collaborated with the Technology of Vision Group (TeV) at Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) in Trento in the area of Pattern Recognition for Computer Vision. His main focus is on Advanced Machine Learning and Deep Learning in the area of Recommender Systems and NLP. During his career he alternated both industrial and academic experiences. He have been recently collaborating, as part of the technical committee, in the new Telenor-NTNU AI Lab.
