The Neuroscience, Cognition and Behaviour Laboratory is embedded in the Department of Humanistic Studies, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. Our research aims to unravel how psychological, neurobiological, and behavioral mechanisms interact in shaping human experience. We seek to identify how stress, emotion, memory, and decision-making processes contribute to adaptive and maladaptive outcomes, with implications for mental health, education, and applied behavioral sciences.
To achieve this, we combine multimodal experimental approaches—ranging from psychophysiology, behavioral testing, and neuromodulation paradigms to advanced neuroimaging environments. Where necessary, we also develop and refine novel methods for studying affective processing, social interaction, and decision-making in both laboratory and real-world contexts.
Our laboratory works at the crossroads of cognitive psychology, neuropsychology, and applied behavioral science, with projects extending into domains such as prospective memory, social affective neuroscience, and neuromarketing. We aim to advance both theoretical understanding and translational impact across clinical, cognitive, and applied psychology.
