Previous ARC Recommendations:
9/20/22: The ARC recommended conceptual approval with the details to be worked out at the staff level. The ARC agreed that the bottom rail of the new doors should match the existing storefront panels to give a more cohesive look.
7/19/22: The ARC voted to deny the application as proposed, citing that the new storefront was inappropriate to alter only one of several storefronts that currently have a cohesive appearance. The ARC recommended maintaining the existing storefront and renovating it.
5/17/22: The ARC requested that a context drawing that includes the whole building be submitted for the next meeting, as well as drawings that have more details on the change in materials across the façade. The ARC noted that the proposed door openings do not meet building code and should be addressed prior to the next meeting. The ARC stated that if a new traditional storefront is to be installed, then the door panels need to have more typical proportions, the openings should be aligned better with corresponding fenestration above, and more traditional details should be used on the pilasters.
