ARC Recommendations:
06/16/20: The ARC recommended conceptual approval with the details to be worked out at the Staff level. The courtyard entry of the Tchoupitoulas St side needs to be further developed, it should be more contemporary to relate to the style of the façade of the building. The ARC agreed that the steel grid at the courtyard side was too heavy, the vertical members should be more delicate.
11/19/19: The ARC agreed that the visibility of the amenity deck and rooftop addition was minimally obtrusive in relation to the Significant rated structure. The addition reads as the rear of the new construction project proposed for the lot facing Tchoupitoulas St. The ARC recommended approval of the massing of the 5-story hotel building.
10/15/19: The ARC agreed that as proposed, the addition was too large/visible to be appropriate for a Significant rated building. The ARC voted to defer this application to continue to study the mass. The massing should be shifted toward the Tchoupitoulas/new construction side.
