I'm Corbin Balitactac, a fourth-year PhD candidate in mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), advised by Casey Rodriguez. I'm broadly interested in analysis, geometry, and continuum mechanics. In particular, I study higher-gradient theories of continuum mechanics. Before coming to UNC, I did my undergraduate studies in mathematics at the University of California, Los Angeles.
I am very grateful for the support for my work from NSF RTG DMS-2135998 and a grant awarded to Casey Rodriguez, NSF DMS-230756.
I can be contacted by email at corbindb (at) unc (dot) edu.
Before coming to UNC, I was a competitive judoka. I still practice judo often, in addition to my new hobby of running.
