Oral podium presentations along with poster presentations are solicited across the proposed symposium themes listed to the right. We also encourage the submission of high-quality abstracts on other themes that are related to water quality issues in Canada. Abstract Submission Guidelines
Please submit your abstract as a document file by email to cawqwestern@gmail.com
Abstracts for oral and poster presentations are being accepted. The poster must be A0 portrait format (841 mm x 1,189 mm).
Podium presentations will be scheduled for 15 minutes, including discussion period.
In order to facilitate production of the book of abstracts for all attendees, please follow the abstract format guidelines below:
o Submitted abstracts should be limited to research background or problem statement, objectives, methodology, results, discussion, conclusions, and recommendations.
o Abstracts should be limited to 500 words (excluding title and author information) and one figure/table.
o Abstracts should be single-spaced in Times New Roman font
o The title (bold 14-point font) should be centred at the top of the abstract
o Author names (normal 12-point font) should be centred under the title
o Author affiliations (normal 12-point font) should be centred under the title
o Presenting author name should be underlined, with an email address in an endnote (normal 12-point font)
o Abstract text (normal 12-point font) should be left aligned, with the first paragraph appearing without indentation and subsequent paragraphs indented
Although submission of full paper is not required for this conference, authors are encouraged to submit their full paper for publication in the Water Quality Research Journal, an open access journal sponsored by the Canadian Association on Water Quality (CAWQ) and published by International Water Association (IWA) Publishing: https://iwaponline.com/wqrj
To compete for the Philip H. Jones and Best Poster Awards, authors must indicate if they are currently Young Water Professionals (YWPs; 35 years old or younger) or presenting graduate research on the Abstract Information Form.
The presenting authors will be required to register by May 25, 2025.
