When writing questions for the NYS Comprehensive (Checkpoint B) Exam, please refer to this document, carefully compiled by Mr. Michael Wright of Sacred Heart Academy.
N.B. Please see the message below from our exam chair (originally sent April 11th, 2020) regarding exams for 2019-2020:
The NY State Education Department has cancelled Regents Exams for this June [2020]. They also issued guidelines allowing school districts to award Checkpoint B LOTE sequences and requirements for advanced Regents diplomas to Level 3 LOTE students without having them take an exam this year. There is additional guidance allowing school districts to award high school credit to 8th graders without having them take a Checkpoint A exam this year. With these new developments in mind, we have decided not to disseminate checkpoint A and B exams this year as planned. Although we have exams nearly completely done, due to the current Covid-19 situation, they do still need some work. We feel we would be better served to continue working on the exams and issue them next year [2021]. All members of CAWNY in good standing will have their memberships extended free of charge for an additional year. So, if you are a member in good standing, you will still be entitled to the exams when they are issued next year [2021].
