Challenge: Identifying appropriate government committees to receive proper approval to implement the project
How we overcame:
1. Met with two board members of the Mountain House Community Service District (MHSCSD) who advised to meet with Lammersville Unified School District (LUSD) Safety and Crisis Response Committee
2. Presented our proposal to the LUSD committee and Cordes Elementary School Principal and received approval for education program implementation
3. Collaborated with Cordes School Principal for the implementation of the program for grades 4-8
Challenge: Understanding city and school district regulations for the placement of signage on public streets
How we overcame:
1. We presented our proposed signage and locations at the MHCSD Public Safety Committee meeting. Afterwards, we were informed that our signage would need further state approval in order to proceed
2. To overcome this, we made the decision to place signage within school premises instead of on public streets
