My name is Hermes Pineda. And I started working in the tree industry in the city of Calhoun, GA in 1999. My first position was as a groundman, and three months later I was promoted to a climber. After that, I was given the position of a bucket truck driver, and I learned to operate it. After a year I was a climber, driver, and bucket operator, then they give me the position of group leader. In 2005, Katrina hit New Orleans, and we went to New Orleans to help restore the city of New Orleans. A manager from a company called Asplundh saw me work on the tree that was over the transformer, and pole line, He told that He liked how I worked. He said he was going to open new groups in the city of South Point, Ohio, and asked if I wanted to work with him, saying he would pay for my food and hotel for a year. Then I gave him my number, and two weeks after we returned from New Orleans, he called me, so that how I came to live of the Stete of Ohio, a beautiful State to live in.
