The band's debut album was recorded within the span of about 6 hours (on the same day they were formed), and it shows. You can hear how much fun the band's having, and you can tell how close they are with each other. And also how much they look up to Cherry, the only important member of the band. This is evident in the first two songs. "Cherry!" and "It Was a Cherry" are both celebrations of the fabulous Cherry Blossom. And Cherry herself wrote and sang some songs as well, such as "One Step at a Time", an important message about doing things at your own pace, and "The Ballad of Luckypool" and "A Long Life of Suffering", both of which are dramatic piano ballads about the book series Warrior Cats. Adam too wrote a Warrior Cats piano ballad in the form of "Fireclan", though Adam takes a more comedic approach as opposed to the dramatic storytelling of Cherry's songs. The album ends with "Today was a Wonderful Day", recorded just after midnight. And after listening to this album, you'll agree that it was, in fact, "a very day."

The Cute Cherries is an album of many firsts, but then again, isn't every album? It has the first song made by Rossie, who joined the band while recording this album. It has the band's first songs that were edited using GarageBand, which would become more frequent as the band progressed. This album is the first time Sage and Violet ever sang lead vocals for the band. CATOP's sophomore album has all of these important milestones, yet, you can still tell how much the band is having a good time. The opener "I'm a Failure" is perhaps the best example of this, a self-deprecating slice of comedy by Violet, with Sage and Adam making comedic remarks in the background. And Adam's songs are even more comedic this time around, especially the "My Door" saga. The humorous and very well sung "It's an F++++" is Sage's first ever solo song. But The Cute Cherries isn't all fun and games. Rossie's first song, "I'm Trying but I'm Dying" is one of the band's saddest yet, and their most experimental. And while Cherry didn't write as many songs this time around, her "Fly!" and "When I Started Falling" are more examples of her powerful messagery and her knack for storytelling. Despite being more lighthearted than most of their output, The Cute Cherries is an important indicator of where the band is going next.

Album is very true to it's name. It is, in fact, an album, and a very important one at that. Album represents a turning point for the band; it signals where they're headed next. Adam started experimenting with more serious songwriting, with songs like "I Need To Go Outside More" and "I Do Not Like the Sun", which are pastiches of Car Seat Headrest and Jack White respectively. Cherry also wrote some of her best songs yet, including the powerful "Cyan Strong" and the folky "Lone Wolf". Violet's "A Unicorn is More Plausible Than a Giraffe" was an outtake from The Cute Cherries, but it fits snugly on here. And Rossie's sole composition on this album, "You're a Sea Bass" (which would be her final for CATOP), explores some of the sounds the band will use in the future. In fact, this whole album is a great indicator of where the band would go for their next album.

From the very first note, you can tell that Wild Cherry is wildly different from the rest of CATOP's output. Despite it's relatively lengthy recording process, the band's schedules didn't align as much as before, and when they were together, they weren't focused on recording music. This meant that most of the album was done remotely, and oftentimes all that was recorded was just singing, meaning that Adam had to fill in the gaps and create the instrumental using GarageBand. This leads to a very different sound from their previous albums. Yet, despite all of this, the usual CATOP charm and sense of humor is there, especially on Sage and Violet's songs; the duo really start to emerge as confident songwriters on this album, with songs like the heavy "This Dumb Video Game" and the catchy "I Wish I Was Dead". Violet's solo composition, the emotional "I'm a Flying Acorn", also stands out. And when he wasn't working on songs for his friends, Adam was experimenting with even more new and weirder sounds. For example, the unhinged noise rock on "I Don't Know Where I'm Going", and the avant-garde sound collage on "I am Looking for a New Brand of Body Wash". And, of course, it wouldn't be a Cherry and the Other People album without Cherry. Her song, "My Life is a Lie", opens the album with a story about a cat that dies in a car crash. But the dance pop sound of that song is in stark contrast to it's sequel, "My Life is a Dream", with it's ominous vocal and menacing synth background, until it all comes crashing down and transforms into pure noise, which transitions into the triumphant fanfare of "The Ending Song". A great way to end Cherry and the Other People's most varied album yet.

After Wild Cherry, the band were having some trouble creating new songs. They knew it would be hard to top something as powerful as that. It took them a few months, but after some careful thinking, they came up with a new gameplan: Instead of releasing huge albums like Wild Cherry and The Cute Cherries, they'd release shorter EPs, but more frequently than their earlier albums. "Our First EP" was their first attempt, and it succeeded. The first track, "I've Been Inside for Way Too Long", is Cherry's favorite CATOP song, and for good reason. The instrumental and Adam's backing vocals complement Cherry's lead vocals well. This is actually Cherry's only lead vocal spot on this EP, unfortunately. The EP then gets into stranger territory with Adam's "Your Sleep Paralysis Demon", featuring samples of all the band member's voices, backed with a very off-kilter beat. "You Are Sad" is a calmer Adam track, with looping samples of his voice. The entire song is made of Adam's voice, in fact, even the drum beat. Sage and Violet's "Death Metal Chickens" is exactly as described: a death metal song about the inevitable chicken uprising (it'll happen someday. Don't say we didn't warn you). The closer, "Lily and Willow", is a heavy pop-rock ode to Cherry's cats, made by Adam. One of them, Willow, is actually featured on the album cover! Don't worry, the ball did not hit her.

CATOP decided to all meet up at Adam's house for New Year's Eve, and while they were there, they decided to do what they do best. This 3-song EP is the result. The first two tracks are the band messing around and having a good time, and "Havey The New Year" is something Adam made in 10 minutes after everyone left.

There is, in fact, a cat on this slide. See if you can spot it. This is the second full-length EP by CATOP, and so far they're showing no signs of slowing down. The opening track "Cool!" is a dancey electronic instrumental by Adam, with some words of encouragement by Cherry sprinkled in. Violet's vocal spotlight, "What Are Trees", is a surprisingly funky philosophical examination of the nature of a tree, and it also happens to be one of Cherry's favorites. We're not really sure what "There Is a Hole in This Triangle" is about, but it sure is a banger. The EP's centerpiece, however, is Adam's "Mr. Baby", and ode to Sage and Violet's cat, who is just as evil and mischievous as described in the song. The song starts with a jazzy, sinister chant of the cat's name, before transforming into a hard rock section, and then ending with a heartfelt piano ballad. The final song, "G'boldulous", is CATOP's special way of saying "goodbye".
Lily, Cherry's other cat, takes the spotlight on the album cover this time around. Don't worry, we didn't actually push her down a slide. We just used a little Photoshop magic to make it seem that way.

Cherry and the Other People were on a roll with their EPs, and OMG NO WAY took things even further, featuring the longest song they've made so far. In fact, despite only being 7 songs long, this EP/Album (we're not really sure which) is about the same length as The Cute Cherries, and is twice as long as There Is a Cat on This Slide. The EP/Album opens with "It's Too Scary", which was to be the opener to their original album 5 before Our First EP was made. This song, written by Cherry (with some guest vocals by Violet) tells the story of a Warrior Cat apprentice named Sunpaw, and how she's too scared to advance to the next stage of her life. Cherry's detailed and descriptive writing style really puts you in Sunpaw's head, and she does an amazing job at describing exactly how Sunpaw is feeling. EEEmix is an instrumental made by Adam, featuring Cherry's voice going "eeeee". Adam samples this recording to make a lush, almost synth-poppy instrumental. "I Don't Like Science" is a song about a person Adam doesn't like. And Sage's "I've Lost My Mind" is a humorous (and relatable) piano pop number with some psychedelic touches. But the true focal point of the album is the closer. "Little Kitty" is an ode to Cherry's pet cat, who sadly passed away a few years ago. To Cherry, losing Little Kitty was like losing her best friend. And clocking in at almost 6 (!!!) minutes long, this epic hard rocker contains 3 guitar solos, a perfect way to end such an EP.
Willow is once again on the album cover, sitting in a cardboard box. Cherry, who took the photo, wasn't expecting her to fit in it. Such an accomplishment will surely make one go "OMG, NO WAY".

Fun fact: "The Dead Cherries" was going to be the name of CATOP's original album 5, before they started creating EPs. This revived Dead Cherries is actually somewhat of a return to form for the band, as this is their longest album since Wild Cherry. The album starts off strong, with "Cherry's Here", a retro video game-inspired instrumental, made to celebrate the arrival of Cherry Blossom. All hail Cherry Blossom. "She Woke Me Up At 6 AM" is another song about a person Adam doesn't like. "Bacon!" is Sage and Violet's vocal spot on the album, a synth-heavy ode to bacon. "You Wanna Help Me Fight a Whale?" and "Mushroom Chair" are two equally goofy songs that seamlessly fade into one another, with the former being an angry punk rock song by Adam, and the latter being a mysterious funky song about whatever a "mushroom chair" is, made by Cherry. Still in a funky mood, Cherry returns after this album's Pure Unbridled Chaos with "I'm a Hungry Cat", a funky jam about a very hungry cat begging for food, one of the best cuts on the album. "Having a Bad Time" is yet another song about a person Adam doesn't like. When will he ever get over it? At this point in the album, the listener is warned that the band is "going to die in 2 minutes". Cherry uses her story-writing skills in "The Story of Snowflake", a heartfelt ballad about a family of wolves. But it must be noted that this song happens to be exactly 2 minutes long. And indeed, after "Snowflake", the band proudly announce in the title track that they are "dead". Physically dead? Metaphorically dead? Who knows? You decide!
The cover art marks the return of Cherry Cat, the official mascot of Cherry and the Other People.

You would think that a band as prolific as Cherry and the Other People wouldn't have very many leftovers. And yet, they found a way to make an entire compilation of them, their longest album yet, clocking in at almost 30 minutes. As a celebration for hitting album 10, the band went through some of their old, unreleased tracks, and let them finally see the light of day. Adam's strange instrumentals get to shine a bit on this compilation ("Cool Music For When You Yell At a Tree", "The Yes.", and "Woo-Woo" are some examples). But the true highlights are, of course, Cherry's scrapped pieces. A lot of her songs on this album were slated to go on some of the band's earlier ones (The Cute Cherries, Album, Wild Cherry), but were cut at the last minute. These cut songs are presented here for the very first time, and as expected, there are some true gems of hers on this. "Bloodgrave" and "Bloodmoon" both tell the tale of two different, yet similar, evil Warrior Cats, and they would have been featured on Album. "Murderer" is a full-band jam about, you guessed it, a murderer, and how Cherry tries to fight back. This song would have closed out The Cute Cherries. But the true masterpiece is the closer of this album, "Remember Me". This song was to be featured on Wild Cherry, but Cherry decided to scrap it at the last minute. Clocking in at 4 minutes long, what would have been the band's longest song at the time, this emotional track is about a Warrior Cat on their deathbed, giving one final message of love and reassurance to another Warrior Cat. The song starts out as an emotional piano ballad, before adding percussion and strings, before it all goes silent as the cat says their last words, "You won't ever be alone." What a way to close out an album.

As 2023 drew to a close, Cherry knew she wanted to make another New Year's EP. And as soon as the ball dropped at midnight, the band got right to work. This new EP (which is considerably longer than the 2023 EP) consists of 5 songs: two of the band messing around and having fun (It's Another New Year and Pure Unbridled Chaos 11), two Cherry solo songs (Cherry's Piano Thing, a piano instrumental; and "It's 2024", a heartfelt ukulele ballad about the dreams and goals that one can accomplish in the next year), and one Adam solo song (What Are Years?). All in all, this new EP is a great way to ring in the new year.

Released as a one-off single in November 2024, "The Adam House Song" is a prime example of CATOP's signature spontaneous energy. A collaboration between Cherry (lyrics and chorus vocals) and Adam (music and rap vocals), this song spontaneously came about while at a party at Adam's house, and is one of CATOP's funkiest and most danceable offerings to date.
Recorded: January 1st, 2025

As the ball dropped, and it became 2025, CATOP knew they had to continue their tradition of making a New Year's EP, and the band got straight to work writing songs right after the countdown. The first two songs on this five song EP are just the band goofing around and screaming, as is tradition, and "I Like To Eat Microplastics" is a humorous and slightly unsettling solo song by Cherry. The remaining two songs are primarily composed and sung by Adam, with significant contributions from the rest of the band. Adam and Sage collaborated on the lyrics of "Pancake Consumption", an 80s-inspired disco pop song, with Cherry and Sage making guest appearances at the end of the track (Cherry also contributed the title of this song). "Birds Fly (Like Children)", the final song on the EP, is a powerful heavy rock song with contributions from Cherry and Sage. Birds fly, and children also fly when you throw them off of things! What a beautiful message to end on! Happy new year!
