CATNIP

      Categories Networking Project

CATNIP is a scientific network between the University of Aberdeen, the University of Edinburgh and the University of Strathclyde; it is focused on category theory, both in its foundational aspects and in its interactions with computer science and with other areas of mathematics, such as topology, algebra, mathematical physics and applied mathematics.

Network Organizers

Jules HedgesDepartment of Computer and Information Sciences, University of Strathclyde.

Chris HeunenSchool of Informatics, University of Edinburgh.

Tom Leinster,   School of Mathematics, University of Edinburgh.

Simona Paoli , Department of Mathematics, University of Aberdeen.

The network is supported by a grant from the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences and EPSRC (Ref EP/V521929/1).

CATNIP has three one-day meetings per year, one in each of the three Universities. Several distinct features give it a very low threshold for interaction among the community.
