Annually, in Ontario, the Catholic community convenes for Catholic Education Week, a week-long tribute to the distinct identity and invaluable contributions of Catholic education. This year's theme, "Catholic Education: We are Called to love," will be observed from May 5th to May 10th.
At St. Andrew, we hold deep gratitude for the daily opportunity to live out our faith. We eagerly anticipate this year's Catholic Education Week as an occasion to strengthen the meaningful connections between school, home, and church.
We're enthusiastic about providing our students with a range of special learning and communal activities that emphasize the significance of living with love, leading with kindess and embracing the teachings of Christ in our everyday lives.
Throughout this school year, teachers have actively participated in a dynamic math Professional Learning Community, collaborating and connecting with educators from other Orangeville DPCDSB schools. Through this experience, it has become evident that St. Andrew would greatly benefit from an enhanced collection of Math Manipulatives to support students in problem-solving, visualization, addition, subtraction, and more.
The objective is to equip each classroom from FDK to Gr. 8 with a Math Cart filled with manipulatives and other math learning tools to enrich student learning. All proceeds from the sale of Chapman Lolly Popsicles during Catholic Education Week will contribute to the Math Carts initiative.
For just $5.00, students can enjoy a Lolly every day during the week-long celebration.
Let's make math fun and accessible for all students!
