Our Story

Hola!

We were founded by Vicente & Ramona Castro in the year of 1949, in Puerto San Isidro, Erendira. At the time there still wasn't a highway or even a pavement road to get to the town. There wasn't even electricity.

The first reservations used to come via letter (sent via the ocean) from visitors mainly from the US. It started with one wooded boat, and no cabins. And instead of using the tractor to go up and down, we used to leave our boats anchored.

As time goes by, the founders son, Fernando, takes over and started to offer more boats, and cabins for staying the night. The town started to grow, and also the camp. We had more visitors and thanks to technology and friends all over the world, we had the opportunity to grow. At one point, Castro's not only did offer sports fishing, but we also used to offer fish and crab meat exportations. So be sure to try our crab meet burritos with our original recepie!

We still have a long way to go! And more fish to catch! And we love it! We hope you are part of our story.
