April 1st: All team information and entry fees are due. The entry fee is $35 per team (That's $5 per person). Please go to the "Team Sign Up" page to sign up. Give Liam Johnston the money with your form.
Teams: Teams will consist of up to 7 members with a minimum of 7. Each team is required to pay $35. Up to 7 members can be active per round. If you don't pay by the deadline, your team will be ineligible to play.
Restrictions: All participants must be Stadium students and be a Sophomore or older (note to the runner of next year's nerf wars, DO NOT ALLOW SOPHOMORES). If you are out of town for more than 24 hours during the course of the match, you are ineligible to play for that match.
Gameplay: Play for the match begins at 12:00 am Monday and ends at 11:59 pm Wednesday. The next Match will start at 12:00 am Thursday and end on 11:59 pm Saturday. Sundays will be rest days. This will be the pattern until the 1st round is over. I will take a day or so after the first round to organize the second round and the same schedule will be repeated. If at the end of the match there is a tie, the two participating teams need to agree on some form of tie breaker and figure out a winner as soon as possible. All confirmed and agreed hits MUST be sent to the @CastleNerf2017 Twitter. Kills and complaints will not be recognized if sent via text.
Prize: The winning team will be awarded 80% of the prize money. The rest will go to charity.
Location: Absolutely NO Nerf Wars on Stadium property at ANY time. No Nerf Wars on other TPS property during school hours. No Nerf Wars at any official school sport or school event locations, including fields, gyms, etc. No Nerf Wars at Stadium Young Life events. No Nerf Wars while someone is working, on the way to work, or on the way home from work. If someone is on their way to ANY sport practice, school or outside club they CAN be shot leaving their house, but cannot get shot once they enter the parking lot of their practice. You cannot block their car to prevent them from going to practice, school, or any other sort of club. Once they leave the parking lot they can be shot. In the case(s) of a Sunday round, Nerf Wars will not be permitted at religious events.
No nerf wars on TCC or UPS property.
Don't be a dick.
NO GUNS ON CAMPUS: You will get suspended
No Fly Zone: From 6:30-8:00 and 1:30 to 4:00 on weekdays, the no Nerf Wars rule on Stadium campus will be extended to BOTH SIDES OF 3rd Street, N C Street, and N 5th Street, and THE STADIUM SIDE OF N Tacoma Ave and N E Street. This is for your safety! A high number of car accidents have been reported in these areas the last few years. If you decide to leave campus for lunch or anything, there is no safe zone and you may be shot. ALL TPS PROPERTY IS OFF LIMITS FROM 7-4PM. Map at bottom of page.
Property Rule: If you or anyone on your team is hiding in the yard of the opponents or a neighbors yard and are asked to leave by any parent, guardian, or adult, you must leave no questions asked. If you do not leave when asked, you will be disqualified for round and will count as a kill.
Break ins: The only way you can enter an opposing person's home is if you are INVITED inside (you cannot force your way into a house if someone is traveling through a door) or if the door or garage, and only the door or garage, is ajar (not unlocked), you are allowed to walk in. You still must leave the house if a parent, guardian or adult requests that you leave. If you are inside an opponents house and it is found that the door was not ajar or that you were not invited in, you will be disqualified for the remainder of that round. You can however open an unlocked car door if the car is not moving.
Injuries: Injuries may nullify a kill. DQs may be awarded at the Commissioner's discretion depending on the circumstance of the injury, which may include and is not limited to injuries sustained by opponents' family or friends.
Holding: You are not allowed to restrain/hold any other Nerf participant. You are allowed to knock Nerf guns out of your opponents hands. Don't be a dick.
Guns: Only official Nerf guns, modification is ALLOWED. No swords, axes, etc. Bullets must be the same length and weight, unless using a bigger Nerf gun. Disks are allowed, bullets bought online are allowed (but if they cause problems, they will get you DQed). The new ball ones are allowed for now unless it becomes a problem. Guns MUST be brightly painted, no black or realistic paint jobs, and you ABSOLUTELY MUST have an orange tip.
Eliminations: If you or anything you are holding or carrying is hit by a dart fired from a gun, you are eliminated for the remainder of the week, unless the dart hit the ground first. All other rebounds count. NO SHIELDS. If anything you are obviously using as a shield is hit by the dart, you are eliminated. If you are eliminated you can do everything that is permitted in these rules except shoot people.
The Naked Rule: If you are completely naked when you are hit by a fired dart, you are not eliminated. You cannot eliminate other players while you are naked. This is your only safety and YOU are responsible for any possible public indecency laws you may break.
Disqualifications: If you break a rule you will be subject to a trial to determine if you will be disqualified or not. You will have one chance to explain your side of the story to Liam, and his decision is final. Any destruction of anyone's property will count as a DQ for the team member(s) responsible. lying about property damage will resultin in a dq for the liars. Respect peoples stuff. If you are disqualified, you cannot assist your team for the remainder of the round. No stealing pets. Any objects held hostage must be returned by the end of the day.
TIEBREAKERS: Come up with a tiebreaker and complete it by Sunday following the round. If I receive no agreed upon conclusion, tie breaking will be decided by coin flip.
IMPORTANT: By playing Nerf Wars, you agree to follows these rules and regulations and understand that they may change. Furthermore, you understand that the organizers are not responsible for your actions or the consequences of your actions at any time throughout the tournament. This is in no way connected to Stadium High School or the Tacoma Public School System.
Texting Liam: If there is a major dispute that cannot be settled, Team Captains and ONLY team captains can text Liam.
Recent years have shown that breaking into houses and/or backyards can cause disturbances. BREAK INS ARE NOT ALLOWED. IF taken too far, the cops will be called by neighbors or owners of the house. Please be respectful and safe. You are responsible for the damage of others property. Be safe and have fun. Liam is not responsible for any damages, injuries, or things that might happen during Nerf wars. You chose to play, so if you are going to be stupid and get hurt, by playing you agree that Liam Johnston is not responsible for anything.
