Jon Harrang from Oregon visited us along with gold medal winning salmon fly tyer, Tony Smith, where they spent a morning visiting our showroom last month. We have known Jon for many years but had never met him in person. He is a fine tyer and an avid fisherman. Tony has gold medals won in contests all over the world.

A friend/customer called to say he saw our Castle Arms website was for sale by someone we never heard of. There are at least 9 "CASTLE ARMS" sites , most being lodges,motels,etc. He said the price was $2300.00. Anyone thinking of buying this or any other site for that kind of money should have their head examined. That's why we have established a new Castlearms site at castlearms.net.

The economy must be easing as we have started getting more calls for lodge info on salmon fishing and Argentina. For Atlantic Salmon we fish out of Camp Bonaventure on the Gaspe fishing the "Bonnie" and the Petite and Grand Cascapedia. You can't do any better in our opinion and we have fished all over Quebec, NB, Newfoundland and Labrador in the past 60 years. In June and early July any of the rivers on the Gaspe can be great. By the end of July some of the rivers get real low and hot. The Bonnie and Petite are spring fed and fish well under almost any conditions. Other favorites, depending upon conditions are the Mirimachi, Matapedia, Restigouch and Cains with the right water conditions.

As for Argentina, for great trout and landlock salmon the top lodge is Carrileufu River Lodge in Patagonia. The best fishing, lodge, food and guides in So. America in our opinion. It's a dream trip you'll talk about for a lifetime and we understand they are offering deals for next year. Pull up their web site here.
