Cast Iron Care & Storage

  • Never clean your skillet with a steel wool pad! This destroys the polymerized oils you've created to make your skillet non-stick!

WARM WATER

  • After meal use warm water and wooden spoon or bamboo brush and Kosher salt to clean excess food on a warm skillet. Never use cold water on a hot skillet.

  • Never use metal utensils to scrape cooking surface!

  • Blue Dawn dishwashing liquid can be used for stubborn stuck on particals. Most of the time you can clean a stubborn substance from your CI just by filling it with a little water and placing in back on stovetop and bring to a boil, turn heat down and simmer. Empty it and scrub with kitchen scubber or chain scrubber.

RINSE & HEAT & SEASON WITH LIGHT OIL

  • Rinse and dry skillet with paper towel. Oil lightly. Return to stovetop and heat for 45-60 seconds

  • Make sure your skillet is dry and warm to the touch! Be careful and apply a light coat of vegtable or bacon grease with clean paper towel to entire skillet, cooking surface, handle and exterior-then wipe off. Can place in oven @474 D is wanted.

  • Store in cool dry place.
