COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Overview

Our Community Engagement Initiative, led by the Share, Grow, Excel (S.G.E) Association, aims to provide children at New Life Children & Student Care Centre @ Teck Whye with academic support. The student care centre is established by New Life Community Services, a not-for-profit social service agency that aims to bring hope and purpose to children, youths and seniors.

Role

• Conduct mentoring sessions by guiding and helping students with their school assignments or extra assessment

• Plan and execute lessons that help enhance students' knowledge

• Organise and lead an excursion to SUSS Campus and the Science Centre Singapore to enrich students' learning experience

Volunteering at New Life Children & Student Care Centre @ Teck Whye has allowed me to create a meaningful impact on the community by helping to enrich children's learning experiences. This experience made me realise the importance of individual contributions in enhancing societal wellbeing, inspiring me to become more eager to volunteer and help create a better community.
