My new paper "ChatGPT, the CUPID Model, and Low-Stakes Writing" is forthcoming in AAPT Studies in Pedagogy. The paper offers five pedagogical strategies educators can employ to address the rising use of Chat GPT by students to complete assignments. I recommend a particular strategy, one which disincentivizes the use of AI by students to complete assignments. I suggest that low-stakes writing assignments are good examples of assignments which simultaneously disincentivize the use of AI and allow students to practice and hone important writing and philosophical skills.
