Miss Fingerman is a central PA local! She grew up just down the road in Camp Hill, PA. After graduating with a Bachelor of Music Education and a Bachelor of Music Therapy with a minor in Special Education from West Chester University, she is excited to teach back in the area that she grew up in! She joins the Carlisle music team to teach instrumental lessons and general music! Miss Fingerman is a flute player but also loves to play a brass instrument or two every once in a while! When she isn’t teaching music, she loves to go camping and watch movies!

Mr. Funkhouser is a central PA local and Messiah College (now University) Graduate. He joined the Carlisle music department in 2020. He loves to play the trumpet and piano! Over the summer Mr. Funkhouser works at CSEHY Summer School of Music, and enjoys practicing photography in his free time.

Mrs. Funkhouser graduated from Cairn University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. Mrs. Funkhouser is a violinist and pianist and loves connecting with others through creating music. During the summer, she enjoys working at CSEHY Summer School of Music, and in her free time she takes pictures, explores bookstores, and teaches privately.

Miss Hupfer graduated from West Chester University in 2015 and got a Master of Music Education Degree from the University of Florida in 2021. This will be Miss Hupfer’s 9th year teaching band for the Carlisle Area School District and first year working at the elementary level. While she loves playing all the band instruments, oboe and percussion are her main areas of study. When not working on music or schoolwork, she likes to crochet, hike, and cook!

Mr. Kuehrmann joined the Carlisle music team in 2018 as director of elementary and high school orchestras around the district. He has earned an Associate of Arts degree from Montgomery County Community College, and Bachelor of Music Education degree with a minor in Music Technology from Penn State University. Mr. K (as his students sometimes call him) loves to emphasize the social aspects in music making, and foster a self-sustaining community of musicians. While not teaching, Mr. Kuehrmann loves playing drums and bass in bands, spending time with his two cats (Freddie and Cowbell), and playing video games.

Mrs. Ream graduated from Penn State with a B.S. in Music Education and from Lebanon Valley College with a Master's in Music Education and has been teaching in CASD since 2008. She has also completed post-graduate study through Lebanon Valley College, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and other institutions. Mrs. Ream lives in Mechanicsburg with her husband, Jeff, (a drummer) and her daughter, Sadie (a mallet percussion player). Mrs. Ream's main instrument is the French Horn. She has worked as an adjudicator for numerous marching band and indoor color guard and drumline competitions and plays French Horn with the Greater Harrisburg Concert Band and other community ensembles.

Mrs. Yang has been a music educator for twelve years teaching in Utah, Massachusetts, Louisiana and now Pennsylvania! She has a B.A. in Music from Southern Utah University and a Master of Music Education degree from Boston University. Mrs. Yang is excited to have completed her Orff Schulwerk certification from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is a proud Marine Corps veteran, having performed in the band on her oboe while serving on active duty. When not teaching, you can catch her reading, playing board games with her family, kayaking, baking cookies or taking her dog for a walk.
