Do you have enough space for the size of shed you're interested in?
Our sheds are delivered already completed, so you'll need enough room on your property for delivery and placement of the shed. Typically you'll want about 2ft additional space added to the width of your building available for a safe delivery.
For example, if your shed is 10ft wide, you'd want at least a 12ft wide space for the shed to be able to be maneuvered into the right spot.
Do you have a level spot on your property for the shed to sit evenly?
If not, no worries. We recommend using concrete blocks underneath your skid runners. You can purchase blocks from Lowe's, Home Depot, or most other home & hardware stores. You can also pour a concrete slab on your property if you're confident that your building will remain there for many years and it complies with your city/county's regulations. The only ground type we don't recommend is using peat gravel, as your building will settle over time and likely end up uneven over time causing issues with doors/windows opening and closing properly. Ask us for more info about concrete blocks before you purchase.
Is your property easily accessible for our delivery team?
Think of trees, shrubs, bushes, low hanging powerlines, bridges, hwy overpasses, and tunnels leading up to your property. Our buildings are delivered on a trailer with a minimum total height of 12ft depending on the size of building. Not sure? That's okay, we can conduct a site visit in most cases first.
Does your city, county, or neighborhood have restrictions on building size and type and will you be applying for a permit?
Check your local city, county, and/or neighborhood websites to verify if a permit is needed. Don't stress though, permits are usually very simple to acquire and not very expensive.
Don't under-estimate your storage space needs.
People often wish they had purchased a larger after they've moved in all of their stored items. You may even want to use your shed as a shed-home later on. Think "big" and long term.
Are you buying a shed built with durable materials and good warranties?
Our sheds are the best on the market built using amish techniques. We use real 5/8" premium pressure treated plywood on the walls and floors and duratemp siding on the outside to keep moisture away. Our patented soffit vent system will keep your building up to 20 degrees cooler in the Summer by allowing heat and moisture to escape through the ridge vent. We also offer amazing warranties! 25 years on the roof, 7 years on our craftsmanship, and LIFETIME on the treated wood.
