Helpful Information for Online Training

• Please log in to class on time. If late, it is your responsibility to communicate with the trainers and secure any information you may have missed.

• We will take a break halfway through each class, but feel free to briefly excuse yourself if needed before or after that.

• While we will have you on mute for the majority of the class, please try to find a quiet space to complete your class for the times you are unmuted.

• Even though you are not in a classroom, it’s vital that you focus on the trainers, content, and your fellow trainees. Avoid your cell phone or other distractions.

• We highly recommend checking email often to ensure you receive important information during your time in training, and so that you get and can register with your Zoom invites for each training class.

• In case there are any difficulties with in-class videos being shown over Zoom, you can access all of the in-class videos in this location on Google: CASA New Advocate Training Videos

• During this time that court hearings are not in session at the courthouse, trainees will be cleared from training before they have completed the standard 4  courtroom observations. Their court observation requirement must be completed by the time they have their first in-person hearing at the courthouse. That can be done on the day they have their own hearing. It also must be completed within 30 days from the day court hearings are resumed at the courthouse.
