My name is juanito xōchipilli conoro. I use they and them pronouns.
I am a choreographer and dance educator based in North County San Diego.
I bring over three decades of experience in social and cultural dance. My training began in 1992 with ballet folklórico and expanded into cumbia, quebradita, salsa (on1 and on2), and bachata. My social dance practice has been shaped through years of dancing and teaching across the United States and México, where my work has been most deeply rooted.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development with an emphasis in Counseling from California State University San Marcos. I bring extensive experience working with adolescents and groups in structured learning environments.
My Approach
My approach to quinceañera choreography centers clear planning, group coordination, and emotional readiness. I support courts through a guided process that prioritizes preparation, communication, and respect for tradition. The goal is for dancers to feel confident, connected, and supported from rehearsal through the day of the celebration.
My choreography practice includes support in the following areas:
choreography design and structure
group coordination and spacing
rehearsal facilitation and pacing
music preparation and editing
emotional readiness and confidence building
working with youth and families in group settings
day-of coordination for choreographed dances
“casa xōchipilli” is my independent choreography and teaching practice. I offer quinceañera choreography and dance education rooted in care, cultural respect, and clear structure.
