My first and most lasting love as an artist is capturing people in any style. I find myself drawn to mediums that I find most lend themselves to expressive portraiture and figure drawing. Watercolors, ink, and charcoal are the materials I favor the most. They are forgiving of missteps and allow more range for my more expressive style.

I have been beyond fortunate to work with the author Jeri Shepard on her recently released first (and soon to come second!) books in her series called Fault Lines. My continuing work includes the main series 'symbol' used throughout the marketing, maps included in the book, flags for political factions, and most recently a series of charcoal portraits of the first book's main characters.

Throughout the spring and summer of 2022, I had the opportunity to work professionally painting large-scale signage and character cutouts for the orchard park Apple Holler in Sturtevant, WI. The selection of pieces here is just a few of dozens of signs and pieces myself and my coworker painted over several months. My particular favorite to work on was the giraffe (pictured disassembled in the lower right photo), which was nearly ten feet tall!
