CarX (“we”, “our”, “us”) helps you identify vehicles from photos, view specifications and stats, compare two cars, and save results in your Garage. We designed CarX to respect your privacy by default.
We don’t collect, store, or sell your personal data.
Your photos, scans, specs, comparisons, and Garage entries stay on your device.
Nothing is uploaded to our servers (we don’t run any servers for user data).
You can delete everything at any time inside the app or by removing the app.
To provide core features, the app may request:
Camera — to scan a vehicle in real time.
Photo Library — to let you pick existing photos for analysis.
Permission prompts are shown by the operating system. You can change permissions anytime in your device settings.
All processing below occurs on your device.
Vehicle Photos (captured or selected): used to detect the vehicle and extract specifications.
Derived Data (on-device): make/model guesses, specs (e.g., body style, power, dimensions), confidence scores, and comparison results.
Garage Data: your saved vehicles, tags, favorites, and timestamps.
Usage Preferences: simple settings such as theme, language, or feature toggles.
We do not collect names, emails, precise location, contact lists, advertising IDs, or analytics tied to you.
On your device, only. CarX stores data in the app’s local storage/sandbox.
No cloud by us. We do not transmit your photos or results to our servers, and we do not operate a user database.
Backups (optional, OS-level): If you enable iCloud/Google device backups, your OS may include CarX’s local data in backups. You can control this in your system settings.
CarX shares nothing by default. If you use system share sheets to export an image or report, only the content you select is shared via your chosen app (e.g., Messages, Mail). We do not see or receive that data.
Purchases are processed by Apple App Store / Google Play. We do not receive your billing information. Any basic purchase metadata we see (e.g., “premium is active”) is stored on-device to unlock features.
CarX is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you are a parent/guardian and believe a child is using CarX, you can remove the app to erase local data.
All data remains in the app sandbox on your device.
We minimize permissions and don’t transmit user content to our servers.
You can add an extra layer of privacy by enabling device passcode/biometrics and OS-level encrypted backups.
Revoke permissions (Camera/Photos) in device settings.
Delete items from Garage inside the app.
Erase everything by deleting the app (this removes the app’s sandbox and all stored data).
If we make material changes, we’ll update the date above and surface a notice in the app.
