ABOUT US

In 2015, CARTHAGE VOLUNTEER GHANA established The  Surf &volunteer program with the aim of assisting new surf  travelers in the town while also supporting the surrounding local community.

CARTHAGE VOLUNTERR GHANA is dedicated to designing, coordinating, and implementing targeted development projects in small communities across Ghana. While the range and scope of our initiatives are broad and evolving, our goal is to help various Ghanaian communities achieve sustainable development and improve their quality of life. Currently, our organization focuses on projects related to education, healthcare, sanitation, and environmental efforts. Through collaborations with local partners, project facilitators, students, and volunteers, we work with communities to address their needs in a responsible manner.

At Carthage Volunteer Ghana, we highly value the active participation of volunteers as it enhances and enriches our operations and activities. We foster close collaboration with the local community, and our team members are fully immersed in all aspects of their assigned projects, from planning to implementation. We encourage volunteers to contribute their ideas and skills across various areas of our projects. In return, we expect volunteers to approach their tasks with dedication, respect for community members, and an appreciation for local knowledge.

The Surf & volunteer program offers a unique opportunity to enjoy oneself while making a positive impact on the host community by combining surfing and volunteering. Volunteers have the option to stay either in the Volunteer House or with host families, where they are introduced to Ghanaian hospitality and rich culture. The host families and the local community provide an environment that allows volunteers to immerse themselves in a new culture and way of life, fostering mutual learning, personal growth, and a transformed perspective on our place in the world.

Our ultimate goal is for volunteers to leave with a sense of having made a positive contribution to the development of Ghana and its people. We hope that volunteers recognize the hard work and dedication of each individual in the community, and that they themselves have been appreciated for their efforts.

GHANA

Arranged on the shore of the Gulf of Guinea in western Africa, Ghana is lined toward the northwest and north by Burkina Faso, toward the east by Togo, toward the south by the Atlantic Ocean, and toward the west by Cote d'Ivoire. Ghana is one of the main nations of Africa, incompletely due to its significant regular riches and part of the way since it was the principal dark African country south of the Sahara to accomplish freedom from frontier rule. As well as being known for its lavish woodlands, different creature life, and miles of sandy sea shores along a beautiful coast, Ghana is likewise commended for its rich history — its home potentially dating from 10,000 BCE — and as an interesting storehouse of social legacy. The nation takes name from the extraordinary archaic exchanging domain was found northwest of the current state until its destruction in the thirteenth hundred years. Direct ocean exchange with Europe, laid out in the fifteenth hundred years, muchly affected the region's occupants, a large number of whom effectively exchanged with the Portuguese, Dutch, British, and different Europeans. Posts and palaces, large numbers of which actually spot the Ghanaian coast today, were built by Europeans to safeguard their exchange advantages. In spite of the fact that exchanging was initially fixated on the gold that was promptly accessible nearby (and from which the future British state the Gold Coast would take its name), the center moved to the rewarding slave exchange the seventeenth hundred years. The region later became known for developing cocoa, the wellspring of cocoa beans. Presented there in the late nineteenth 100 years, cocoa keeps on giving a significant commodity to Ghana.

The environment in Ghana is tropical and there are just two seasons. The dry season endures from November to March while the blustery season begins in March and finishes mid-November. The temperature range is in the day is somewhere in the range of 30 and 35 degrees.
