Why are we asking you to do this?

Rubbish should not be left lying around in the mountains or anywhere else. This way, you help keep the environment cleaner for everyone, including animals!!

There is no rubbish collection here, so we load everything into our car and take it to the bins in Misurina. That's why we kindly ask you to take your rubbish down to the valley!

There is no water at Monte Piana!

Here's how it works:

We collect rainwater from the roof, which flows through the gutters and ends up in cisterns to be used later.  This is why the water in our refuge is NOT drinkable!

We don't want to sell you bottles for profit. In fact, we would love to have drinking water so that we could fill jugs and water bottles and stop using plastic, but unfortunately, the water supply doesn't reach us here.
