Carplay link for Android

Introduction

Samar Studio built Carplay Link for Android as a free/ad-supported application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our app.

Information We Collect

1. Location Data

The app accesses your device's GPS location to display your current position and vehicle speed on the dashboard. We use **foreground location only** — the app never accesses your location in the background. Location data is processed locally on your device and is not stored or transmitted to our servers.

2. Contacts

The app reads your device contacts (read-only) to allow you to search and place calls directly from the driving interface. Contact data is accessed locally and is never uploaded, stored, or shared with any third party.

3. Media Files

The app accesses your audio files to browse and play your local music library. This data remains on your device and is not collected or transmitted externally.

4. Bluetooth Information

The app reads your currently bonded Bluetooth device name to display connection status. No Bluetooth scanning or pairing is performed. This information stays on your device.

5. Phone Calls

The app uses the CALL_PHONE permission to allow you to place hands-free calls from the driving interface. We do not record, log, or transmit any call data.

Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services that may collect information:

Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads based on your consent preferences. Please refer to [Google's Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) for more details.

Google Maps SDK

The app uses Google Maps to display map visuals. Google may collect location and usage data as described in [Google's Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy).

Radio Browser API

The app connects to the Radio Browser API (radio-browser.info) to fetch internet radio station data. No personal information is sent — only station search queries and country filters.

Data Storage

All user preferences (such as car name, theme selection, and language settings) are stored **locally on your device** using Android DataStore. We do not operate any servers that store your personal data. No account creation is required to use the app.

Internet Usage

The app requires an internet connection for:

- Streaming internet radio stations

- Loading map tiles

- Serving advertisements

- Android Auto session signaling

Data Sharing

We do **not** sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except as required by the third-party SDKs described above (Google AdMob, Google Maps) which operate under their own privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
