Car Part IQ (“Car Part IQ,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is an automotive marketplace that allows users to browse vehicle listings, find auto parts, communicate with sellers, and order physical products from participating shops in Iraq.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Account Information
When you create or use an account, we may collect:
• Your phone number
• Your display name
• Your internal account identifier
• Authentication and verification records
Order Information
When you place or manage an order, we may collect:
• Delivery address
• Contact phone number
• Products and quantities ordered
• Order status
• Notes provided with the order
• Messages exchanged between buyers and sellers
Marketplace and Seller Information
If you register a shop or publish a listing, we may collect and display:
• Shop name and description
• Shop contact information
• Product and vehicle information
• Prices and availability
• Vehicle details and location
• Photos, logos, and cover images you choose to upload
Content published as part of a shop, product, or vehicle listing may be visible to other users.
Technical and Security Information
Our service providers may process limited technical information, including:
• IP address
• Request timestamps
• Device and network information
• Security and error logs
This information is used for service reliability, fraud prevention, rate limiting, troubleshooting, and protection against abuse.
2. PHOTO ACCESS
Car Part IQ may request access to photos you select when creating a shop, product, or vehicle listing.
We process only the photos you choose. We do not access your entire photo library, use your photos for advertising, or track you through your photos.
You can change photo permissions at any time through your device settings.
3. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use collected information to:
• Create and authenticate user accounts
• Send verification codes
• Display products, shops, and vehicle listings
• Operate carts and process order requests
• Share necessary delivery information with the relevant seller
• Allow buyers and sellers to communicate about orders
• Review and manage seller applications
• Provide customer support
• Prevent fraud, spam, and misuse
• Maintain the security and reliability of the service
• Comply with applicable legal requirements
4. HOW INFORMATION IS SHARED
Sellers
When you place an order, the relevant seller may receive the information needed to process and fulfil it, including your delivery address, contact phone number, order contents, and order notes.
Service Providers
We use third-party providers to operate Car Part IQ, including:
• Supabase for authentication, database, and file-storage services
• Cloudflare for infrastructure, security, and server functionality
• OTPIQ for delivering phone verification messages
These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services, subject to their own privacy and security obligations.
Legal and Safety Requirements
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, protect users, investigate fraud, or protect the rights and security of Car Part IQ.
5. ADVERTISING AND TRACKING
Car Part IQ does not sell personal information.
We do not use personal information for cross-app advertising or tracking, and the app does not contain third-party advertising SDKs.
6. PAYMENTS
Car Part IQ facilitates requests for physical products sold by participating shops.
The app does not currently process or store payment-card information. Payment and delivery arrangements may be handled directly between the customer and seller.
7. DATA RETENTION
Account information is retained while your account remains active.
Order and transaction information may be retained for fulfilment, customer support, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, and legal compliance.
When retained information no longer needs to identify a user, we may delete, anonymize, or remove the account connection from that information.
8. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:
• Access information associated with your account
• Correct inaccurate account information
• Withdraw optional device permissions
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal information
• Contact us with questions or privacy concerns
You can stop optional photo access through your device settings.
9. ACCOUNT DELETION
You can request permanent account deletion directly inside the app:
1. Open Car Part IQ.
2. Go to Account.
3. Select Delete Account.
4. Review the warning and confirm deletion.
Deleting your account removes your authentication account and associated personal marketplace data. Some limited transaction information may be retained or anonymized where reasonably necessary for legal, fraud-prevention, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.
10. DATA SECURITY
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
However, no internet service or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.
11. INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING
Information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. When information is processed outside your country, it is handled subject to applicable legal and contractual protections.
12. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Car Part IQ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, practices, or legal obligations change.
When we make changes, we will update the effective date displayed at the beginning of this policy.
