Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 27, 2026
Thank you for using "Carousel Maker" ("the App"). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the App on iOS and Android. The App is a voice-first content tool that turns your spoken or typed ideas into ready-to-post carousel slides for Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, and X, and lets you customize and export those slides from a powerful on-device editor.
1. Information We Collect
The App does not require account registration and we do not intentionally collect personally identifiable information for our own customer database. However, depending on how you use the App, the following information may be processed:
- Voice recordings and transcripts: when you tap the record button to dictate a carousel idea, your microphone is used to capture audio. Audio may be transcribed on-device by the iOS or Android system speech recognizer, or sent to our third-party speech-to-text provider (AssemblyAI) for transcription. The transcript is then used as input to AI generation.
- Photos you select: when you choose photos from your device's photo library to add to a carousel, those photos are processed on the device to render the slide. We do not upload your photo library to our servers.
- Text prompts and AI input: any text you type or dictate as input to AI features (carousel generation, content ideas, style copy, translation) is sent to our AI providers (DeepSeek for text generation and Google Gemini 2.5 Flash for vision-based understanding) through our hosting proxy on Railway.
- Subscription and purchase data: when you subscribe to the App's Pro plan, Apple In-App Purchases and the Adapty SDK process your subscription receipt to determine your entitlement. We do not see your payment details — only whether you have an active Pro entitlement, anonymized by an Adapty profile identifier.
- Device-level information: standard non-identifying technical data such as device language, time zone, and operating system version may be sent to third-party services we rely on (Adapty, Apple, Google) so the App can localize content and validate subscriptions. We do not collect device identifiers (IDFA, advertising ID) for our own use.
- Locally stored content: your saved carousels, drafts, favorite templates, AI quota counters, and onboarding preferences are stored on your device using encrypted local storage (MMKV). This data never leaves the device unless you explicitly export or share it.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use information only to provide and improve the App's features. Specifically, we use it to:
- Transform your voice or text into structured carousel slides through our AI providers.
- Generate content ideas tailored to your niche and your past style examples.
- Translate carousels into other languages on demand.
- Render and export carousel slides as PNG or PDF files to your device gallery.
- Show, validate, and restore your Pro subscription through Apple In-App Purchases and Adapty.
- Personalize templates, fonts, stickers, and other editor options based on your onboarding choices.
- Provide watermark-free export and unlock the full content library for Pro subscribers.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for cross-app advertising or profiling.
3. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party services. Each service has its own privacy policy that governs its handling of data:
- Apple In-App Purchases and Apple App Store services (for subscription management, App Store identifiers, and Apple sign-in if used).
- Google Play Billing (on Android, for subscription management).
- Adapty (for subscription state, entitlement checks, and the Adapty Paywall Builder UI).
- AssemblyAI (for cloud-based speech-to-text transcription, when on-device transcription is not used).
- DeepSeek (for AI text generation that powers carousel structure, content ideas, and style analysis).
- Google Gemini 2.5 Flash (for vision-based image understanding when you ask the App to extract structure from an image).
- Expo and the Expo runtime (for app delivery, fonts, splash screen, and over-the-air JavaScript updates).
- Railway (the hosting platform that proxies requests to our AI providers).
We do not use any analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs in the App.
4. Data Storage
Your carousels, drafts, templates, fonts, stickers, AI quota counters, and onboarding preferences are stored locally on your device in an encrypted on-device store (MMKV). Subscription state is managed by Adapty and the relevant app store. Voice recordings are not retained on our servers after transcription completes; transcripts that you send to AI generation are processed in transit and are not stored on our infrastructure beyond what is needed to fulfill the request. We do not maintain user accounts or a centralized user database.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information processed by the App, including:
- Using HTTPS for every network request between the App and our AI proxy or third-party services.
- Storing on-device data inside the operating system's protected app sandbox.
- Relying on Apple and Google for hardware-backed encryption of the local storage layer.
- Limiting the data sent to third parties to only what is needed to fulfill a feature you triggered.
Despite these safeguards, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Request access to the information processed about you.
- Request that we delete information about you.
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your information.
- Withdraw consent for optional processing at any time.
Because the App does not maintain a centralized user account, the most direct way to exercise these rights for locally stored data is to clear the App's data from your device or uninstall the App. For requests related to data processed by our third-party services, please contact us at zia.omar.84@icloud.com and we will assist you in directing your request to the appropriate party.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, in the features of the App, or in applicable law. The latest version will always be available within the App and on the App's store listing. The "Effective Date" at the top of this policy indicates when the latest version took effect. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
9. Contact Us
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or how the App handles your information, please contact us at zia.omar.84@icloud.com. We will do our best to respond promptly.
By using the App, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.
