Over the past 30 years, I have worked with hundreds of couples and individuals experiencing problems within their relationships. Clients come to me with a huge variety of issues. Very often, their couple relationships are at the heart of what is making them seek help. I work collaboratively with clients, helping them to explore and understand why issues are affecting them, and how they can be resolved.
I first trained as a Relationship Counsellor with Relate in 1992, before training as a Psycho-sexual Therapist in 1997. I have a Master’s Degree in Couple Therapy (University of East London 2003), and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psycho-sexual Therapy (Relate and COSRT). I am also qualified as a supervisor and trainer.
In our sessions, we will work together to understand what may be causing distress and anxiety in your relationship, and explore ways to find a resolution that feels right for you.
I work within an integrative theoretical framework, however, the connection between client and therapist is the most important aspect of the therapeutic relationship. I understand how difficult it can be to seek help and aim to make you feel as comfortable as possible.
I have been a member of the main board of The College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) and a Programme Leader for the MA in Relationship Therapy with the University of Hull (Doncaster College).
I have been an Accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapist (BACP) and COSRT. I have been a supervisor for Relate, Marriage Care and The West Berkshire Domestic Violence Programme. I am also a supervisor for counsellors in Private Practice.
