The career I have decided to pursue is Biomedical engineering. I chose this career because my whole life I have played sports, and I have seen many people get injured throughout my time of playing. I have always been interested in helping those that are sick or have an injury. So I felt like Biomedical engineering was the right career for me, I can create technologies or devices to help those who are sick.
Classes that I have taken throughout high school so far to help achieve my career choice are Geometry my freshman year, Algebra 2 my sophomore year and I am currently taking Pre-Calc with dual enrollment my junior year. I also have taken Biology my freshman year, Chemistry my sophomore year and now I am enrolled in physics my junior year. Throughout all of this I have maintained a 4.0 GPA or higher. I have learned many things so far, including how to solve complex math problems, information about the human systems, genetics, and cellular structures. I also have learned molecular structures, and how materials interact. Now I am learning about force and motion. All that I have learned will help me to pursue my career goal.
I am currently on the Leonardtown Highschool Field hockey team, and the Leonardtown Highschool lacrosse team. I also play for the SOMD Eliminators field hockey club. I plan to join Morgan's Message and National Honor Society as my Junior year continues. Playing on sports teams helped me become a strong leader on and off the field. It also helps me work together well with others, as we need to connect passes, communicate with each other and just overall work together as a team since our goal is to win the game.
My immediate plans upon graduation is attending a four-year college or university. I have always wanted to attend a four year university as I feel like it is the most fit for me. I am going to try to play field hockey for a university and I believe that it will give me the most opportunities to pursue the career I want in the future.
After achieving my career goal, I can use the technologies and designs I have made for those who are sick or injured in my community or even throughout the world. This will make a positive impact on them
