Carolina Ulloa-Suárez

Ph.D. in Economics

About

Welcome to my website!

I hold a Ph.D. in economics from Aix Marseille School of Economics (AMSE). I'm currently a consultant for fiscal policy at the Fiscal Management Division at the Inter-American Development Bank and an Adjunct Lecturer at Paris 2 Pantheon-Assas, Sciences Po, and Aix-Marseille School of Economics.

In my research, I analyze how countries establish budgetary guidelines to guarantee the sustainability of public finances. I also assess the extent to which budgetary tools and fiscal institutions interact with the socioeconomic development of countries.

As a consultant and researcher, I specialize in economic policies that ensure sustainable public finances and the use of technology for effective solutions. I am also a member of the FISLAC team dedicated to creating technology solutions tailored for independent fiscal institutions. Our innovations reinforce rules-based macroeconomic policies and frameworks as developed in the Latin America and the Caribbean Compliance Hub

My primary research and policy interests are in fiscal policy, fiscal rules, and public finance sustainability.
