FAQ
Q. I just signed up to lead a session. How should I prepare?
MathGEMs are designed to be accessible to anyone with a 381 background. Please allocate time at the beginning of your talk for an introduction and written definitions (note: we will not be able to remember what Proposition 2.1.3 is after you mentioned it once during the first 16 minutes of your presentation!), and leave time for any questions that might occur during it.
The rest is up to you! Feel free to talk about whatever interests you :)
Q. What if I want to lead a session that requires more than 381 knowledge?
If you prefer, we can change the prerequisite requirement to MATH347 or MATH383 as well.
Q. One hour sounds too much for me. Is there a shorter option?
Let us know, and we can consider a 30-minute option. However, you might be surprised by how fast time flies when you start explaining things!
