May 2025 - GeoLatinas mentoring circle

During six weeks, we shared our knowledge about science communication, specifically for presentations at scientific conferences. We learned a lot in this space, and we appreciate the feedback from our community!
March 2025 - Starting at Purdue as a postdoc!
I joined the EAPS department at Purdue as a postdoctoral research associate in March 2025! So far (to June), I have had the opportunity to present some of my work and the current state of my new project in two meetings: GAGE/SAGE in Bloomington, MN, and at the II Colombian Academic Diaspora Symposium in Lafayette, IN.
January 2025 - PhD defense
Finally, in January, I defended my Doctoral thesis with minimal comments. Thanks to everyone who accompanied me during this process!
February 2024 - First PhD publication!
After months of working and improving this piece, now it is out there!
December 2023 - AGU23 First time giving a talk and first time representing GeoLatinas

Talk in Spanish to kids in Colombia in their last high school year about what does a Cadastral and Geodesy Engineer. Title “¿Qué hace una ingeniera catastral? (What is the work of a Cadastral engineer? )”. Presentation recording on Facebook.

July 2020 - Speaker for the Programa Haiko digital, Fundación Haiko (online)
Talk in Spanish to kids in Colombia with ages ranging from 11-16 about what is remote sensing and what I do as a Ph.D. student. Title “Remote Sensing – Descubriendo el mundo con un rayo laser (Remote Sensing - Discovering the world with a laser ray)”.
September 2019 - Volunteer for BATS
