Current 18U Players and Parents
Practice Videos:
All players are to send at least 1 video of themselves working on their own time each week. The video(s) can include hitting, pitching, catching, and/or fielding. They can also be recorded at private lessons or in a partner or small group setting with other players. The videos are due by Friday of each week.
Attendance:
Attendance is required at practices and at tournaments, including warm-ups. If you need to miss a practice or tournament, it is imperative that you speak with Coach Ben immediately. The standard rule for arrival is a minimum of 15 minutes prior to the stated start/meet time. This is to ensure you have parked, gathered your belongings, and are ready to help with team equipment on time. \
Showcase Emails:
A list of attending college coaches for most showcases will be sent out when received. Players are expected to email a minimum number of coaches (varies by tournament) to start recruiting conversations. The list of coaches you email must be sent to Leslie Owens prior to the tournament.
Playbook/Signs/Wristbands
You are expected to know all signs and plays. If you are unsure of a play, please ask a teammate or coach. Don’t wait until it's too late.
Behavior On and Off the Field:

Team Cooler:
We ask that each family brings a case of water to EACH tournament to refill the team cooler. Sometimes we will ask for a parent to grab ice or other necessities.
Communication:
Most communication is done with the players, especially as it regards practices. game arrival times, and discipline. We will communicate tournament schedules with parents and meetup locations for tournaments with multiple entry points. Otherwise, we are preparing your player to survive on her own at college.
Showcase Behavior:
Coaches watch parent behavior as much as they do the players. When we are on the field, we expect parents to:
Be happy and cheer for all of our players and for all great plays.
Be respectful to umpires, coaches, players, & opposing team fans.
Keep comments about calls, plays, etc. to yourself or at a whisper.
Refrain from talking to players, other than cheering.
Stay away from the dugout, including after injuries. If you are needed for an injury, illness, etc. we promise to get you.
Questions & Concerns:
The coaches are happy to answer questions and discuss your concerns at an appropriate time. Please do not pose concerns about call, plays, or playing time to coaches during a tournament. If you have a concern, please first ask your player if she knows the answer or reason. If not, she should probably ask. After that, parents can text the coaches and request a meeting for further discussion.
Ex 1: Your player has been benched the first game. There is a good chance that she failed to send in her practice videos or her coach contact email list that week. She will know why she is sitting (expectations are made clear), so let her tell you before getting upset at the coaches.
Ex 2: Your player gets pulled during a game. Ask her first. Perhaps she missed a signal or failed an expectation. She will likely know why she was pulled out. If she doesn’t, she probably should be the one to ask.
