In Memoriam
Carole Ruth Beal died on July 28, 2021 at our home in Pittsburgh, a month short of her 67th birthday. She had suffered from an atypical form of Parkinson's Disease that robbed her of almost everything, and she was ready to pass on. Carole never liked to talk about herself or put herself in the center, yet she was the center of our family and much else. Her death has saddened many friends and colleagues and former students. These remembrances will tell you a little about Carole's brilliance, grace and generosity, and her many accomplishments.
If you would like to send a remembrance of your own, mail it to paulrcohen@gmail.com and we'll post it.
Typically, Carole wanted no fuss, so please don't send flowers. Carole devoted part of her career to education for visually impaired students. Donations in her name can be made to the American Printing House for the Blind.
