1. Liability, Risk and Waiver Requirements
By entering or using the pickleball courts, all users acknowledge and accept that pickeball and related physical activities involve inherent risks of injury, accidents, slips, falls, equipment failure, health complications, or other hazards. Users voluntarily assume such risks. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Carmel Presbyterian Church, including but not limited to its leadership, personnel and representatives (collectively, “Carmel Presbyterian Church”), shall not be liable for any injury, accident, illness, death, damage or loss suffered while on church property or using the pickleball courts, whether arising from the conditions of the facilities, the actions of other participants, the lack of supervision, equipment defects, weather conditions, or any other causes.
Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless Carmel Presbyterian church from any claims, demands, damages, liabilities, or costs arising from their use of the courts or their conduct on church property. All players must complete and sign the church’s Pickleball Court Liability Waiver before using the courts. No person may use the courts without a signed waiver. Users under 18 must have the waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Users are responsible for inspecting the courts and equipment before play. By participating, users agree that the facilities are suitable for use and voluntarily accept all risks associated with their condition. Any hazards must be reported immediately and play discontinued until resolved. The church reserves full discretion to restrict use, deny access, or remove individuals from the courts for any reason, including unsafe behaviour or violation of these rules. These rules may be amended or updated at any time at the sole discretion of the church.
2. General Guidelines
The courts are a ministry resource meant to promote fellowship, health, and community engagement.
Please use the courts in a manner consistent with Christian values—show respect, kindness, and good sportsmanship.
The church reserves the right to restrict or modify usage at any time.
3. Hours of Operation
Open: Tues – Sat : 930am - 430pm
Closed: Sundays and other special event days
4. Reservations and Access
Court use is by reservation.
Members of the church may reserve courts through the [church office / online system].
Community guests are welcome, but all players must sign in at the office (filling a waiver form is required).
Please cancel reservations if you can’t attend to allow others access.
5. Conduct and Courtesy
Respect church property and grounds at all times.
No profanity, loud music, or disruptive behavior.
Alcohol, tobacco, vaping, and illegal substances are strictly prohibited on church property.
Appropriate athletic attire and non-marking court shoes are required.
Players must keep noise levels reasonable, especially if near residential or worship areas.
6. Safety
Play at your own risk; the church is not liable for injuries or lost items.
Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.
Use equipment responsibly—report any damages or hazards immediately.
Keep food and glass containers off the courts.
7. Equipment
Bring your own paddles and balls, unless otherwise provided
Church-owned equipment must be returned to the storage area after use.
Do not modify or move court equipment without permission.
8. Cleanliness and Stewardship
Please keep the area clean—dispose of trash and recyclables properly.
No gum, food, or drinks (other than water) on the courts.
Help maintain the courts for everyone’s enjoyment.
9. Events and Tournaments
Organized events must be approved by the church administration.
Fees or donations for tournaments may apply to cover maintenance costs.
All activities should align with the church’s mission and community standards.
10. Enforcement
Failure to comply with these rules may result in suspension of court privileges.
Church staff and volunteers have authority to enforce these rules courteously but firmly.
