Privacy Policy — Carma Press (browser extension)
Last updated: July 2026
Carma Press ("the extension") is an internal organizational tool developed and administered by CARMA for its authorized staff.
1. What data the extension collects
The only personal data the extension handles is the internal account credentials (username and password) issued to each staff member by the organization administrator, plus technical session data required to validate that account: username (no email address required), password (stored only in salted+hashed form on the licensing server), account status, expiry date, and timestamps of the most recent sign-in and session validation. This data is used exclusively to sign the user in and to verify that their license is active.
2. What the extension does NOT collect
No newspaper, magazine, or document content ever leaves the user's computer. All page processing and PDF creation happens locally in the browser. The extension does not read, collect, or transmit the user's news-reader subscription credentials. It operates only within the user's own already-authenticated browser session. No browsing history, analytics, tracking identifiers, or advertising data of any kind is collected.
3. Where data is stored and transferred
Account data is stored on a licensing server operated by the organization itself. It is never sold, rented, shared, or transferred to any third party, and it is used for no purpose other than operating the internal license for this tool.
4. Data retention
An account record exists until the organization administrator deletes it. Deleting an account permanently removes the associated credentials and timestamps from the licensing server.
5. Your choices
Staff may ask the administrator at any time to reset their password, disable, or delete their account. Deleting the account also ends access to the extension.
6. Contact
For any privacy question regarding this extension, contact the organization's administrator (Ali Mhanna, CARMA).
