About. This newsletter started as a nonprofit endeavor called College Brief, aimed to bridge the gap between social media news consumption and the importance of awareness of local news for democratic functions. Over the course of the nonprofit's life, it ran newsletters at USC, UC Berkeley and Cal Poly. The format is shown in an example below. I wrote well over 100 newsletters from January to June 2024 before the founder informed me we ran out of funding. Now, after coming back from a semester abroad, I am continuing to publish (as an independent endeavor) every weekday morning to my 315 subscribers while searching for a new source of funding. Since returning I have published over 80 newsletters.
