I am an Assistant Professor of Accounting at North Carolina State University. I received my doctorate degree in accounting from Boston University in May 2023.
My research focuses on topics in taxation, disclosure, and international trade policy. In particular, I study how tax-related corporate disclosures impact users of financial statement information, and my research in this area has been invited to present to the Securities and Exchange Commission. My dissertation applies textual analysis to identify and study disclosures and outcomes related to the Section 301 China tariffs.
Prior to pursuing my PhD in Accounting at Boston University, I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (2014) and a Master of Accountancy (2015) from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. My professional experience includes three years as a tax associate in tax reporting and strategy, a tax data and technology group, and mergers and acquisitions tax for PwC. I am also a licensed CPA in the state of Massachusetts (inactive).
