In the New Testament Gospels, Christ first saw Mary Magdalene after His resurrection.  He uttered, “Noli Me Tangere,” Latin for “Touch Me Not.”  His body existed in a symbolic realm between life and death.  Here, I have drawn an analogy between Christ’s story and the story of a dying, AIDS-stricken man.  This work was first displayed inside the 1992 “Refuge” installation, and is now in The Detroit Institute of Arts’ collection.
