My earliest drawing pictured on this site, I was eighteen-years-old and completing my first year of study at Wayne State University.  The Italian Baroque masters, especially Caravaggio, were a strong influence on my work.  With his head floating in the pillow, this figure seems to be more an apparition than a living being.
