Laser Powder Bed Fusion Process Simulation via COMSOL

A Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) process was simulated in COMSOL to study the thermal behavior of a Ti-6Al-4V block measuring 6.5 mm (length) × 2.5 mm (width) × 10 mm (height). The simulation setup was designed to follow the methodology described in the paper Numerical and experimental analysis of heat distribution in the laser powder bed fusion of Ti-6Al-4V by Karayagiz et al. It consists of a 4 mm long central path that the laser traverses at 80 mm/s with a power of 50 W.
