Carlos Grooms is the Research and Instruction Librarian at F. D. Bluford Library at North Carolina A&T State University. He serves as the liaison to the English and Criminal Justice departments, as well as the Center for Excellence.
Previously, Grooms served as the Student Success Librarian at Elon University’s Carol Grotnes Belk Library. His focus was on developing and supporting library instruction and engagement initiatives, including skill and community-building programs for underrepresented student populations. He was the liaison to the Center for Access and Success, the Division of Student Life, and the Isabella Cannon Global Education Center. Grooms co-authored a book chapter on establishing partners on and off campus to advance student success.
He has over 15 years of experience in academic and public libraries and holds a master's degree in Library Science from North Carolina Central University. Currently, he serves as Chair of the Roundtable on Ethnic and Minority Concerns (REMCo), a section of the North Carolina Library Association.
