After obtaining a 5-year degree in Physics (2002-2007) I joined the Statistical Physics Group at the University of Granada, where I completed my PhD in 2012 under the supervision of Prof. Pablo I. Hurtado and Prof. Pedro L. Garrido. My doctoral thesis, entitled Fluctuations out of Equilibrium in Diffusive Systems, covered various aspects concerning general properties of nonequilibrium systems derived from the study of the essential role played by macroscopic fluctuations. During this time I performed a 3-month stay in Paris (PMMH- ESPCI) with Prof. Jorge Kurchan. In 2013 I continued working as a postdoc at the University of Granada. In 2014 I moved to Italy to work as a postdoc at the University of Modena and Reggio-Emila with Prof. Cristian Giardinà, in order to study nonequilibrium systems from a microscopic approach. During that period I carried out a 2-month stay at the “Institut Henri Poincaré’ (Paris) within the trimester "Disordered systems, random spatial processes and applications".

From 2016 to 2018, I worked as a postdoc at the University of Nottingham (United Kingdom), with Prof. Juan P. Garrahan and Prof. Igor Lesanovsky. There I focused on open quantum many-body systems; especially in the hydrodynamic description of boundary-driven quantum spin chains and in quantum generalizations of classical nonequilibrium processes, e.g. population and disease spreading dynamic. From 2018 to 2021 I worked at the University of Granada with a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship within the Athenea3i programme. Since December 2021 I am Associate Professor at the Department of Electromagnetism and Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Granada.
