Carlos Cruz Montano

  

Carlos is an engineer working as a quality specialist and Six Sigma Black Belt candidate for Hitachi Energy, and he previously worked as project manager and project lead engineer for Hitachi ABB Power Grids and ABB respectively.  Carlos also worked as a substation design engineer and lead engineer for Entergy.


A Mexico City native, Carlos is fully bilingual in English and Spanish with a working knowledge of Swedish.


As a KIVA fellow, Carlos has served this international nonprofit, its mission to expand financial access to help underserved communities thrive.  He worked in Liberia, Paraguay, and Guatemala with microfinance loan partnerships via a mutual dignity model.  


Carlos earned an MBA degree with focus in international business from Loyola University (New Orleans), has a BSME from Louisiana State University, and an electromechanical engineering diploma from Universidad Panamericana in Mexico.


Carlos is a gardener, outdoorsman, and meditator.  A supporter of nature-based child development education, he ascribes to the power of beautiful design within global environmental sustainability.
